Founded in 1991 as "the quattro list" and supported through volunteers and donations, we provide email-based discussion lists, almost two decades of searchable discussion archives, marketplace for listing cars, parts for sale and wanted, and a publicly-editable encyclopedia of Audi model, tool, history, and repair information.

Thursday, February 2 2010: Welcome, Bring-A-Trailer visitors by Brett

Thanks to a tip on the quattro list from Kent, we found out that the folks at Bring A Trailermentioned a post in the classifieds for an '83 UrQ. We saw a comment on the BaT thread asking what "Ur" means; "Ur" means "Original". Also known as a Turbo Quattro Coupe, the UrQ was the first Audi model made with Quattro. Audifans lister Steve Buchholz, chimed in there with some good info; we hope the new owner joins our UrQ mailing list!

Audifans is best known for the main quattro list, where everyone is strongly encouraged to post general Audi-related topics. We also maintain a number of sublists for certain models and I consider it no coincidence that the more popular lists have dedicated list administrators running them. However, we have a number of other sublists which need some care, feeding, and stewardship- so I'm recruiting for those interested in helping with the 20v, A4, A8, Events, TT, and V6-12v lists (and encouraging those with applicable Audis to join those lists too!)
