NAC. Leaking Plastic Coolant tank.Tyson Varosyan tigran at tigran.comSat May 8 22:01:14 EDT 2004
Yea, I had the same issue on my old 4ksq and performed the same solution, using a soldering iron to weld it back together. I think this largely depends on the type of plastic used and on it's thickness. In the case of the audi I even used an additional strip of plastic to make a seam. This held for about 3-4 months, but the pressure inside tank (steam) when the car got hot eventually busted through... Replacement is the only long-term solution I found... I won't be able to easily put my hands on another one of these tanks and could use some advice as to bandaging this one until I can put my hands on another. It has developed a 1/2" long crack on one side just under a seam. Any sort of product or bandage any of you have used to take care of a problem like this in the short term? > >Thanks Again, > >Eric Wulf > >'89 100 >and a leaky '88 Merkur > >_______________________________________________ >quattro mailing list >quattro at audifans.com >http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/quattro > > > _______________________________________________ quattro mailing list quattro at audifans.com http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/quattro
