[s-cars] An S car momentTom Mullane tmullane at snet.netMon Oct 11 19:26:10 EDT 2004
I think I have to agree there.on both counts. Not a huge difference with the 105/93 octane mix (about 96 octane I figure). I am running the custom Mihnea chip. Thank God he is MIA for a while; I'm sure I'd be looking for a race gas chip ;-) _____ From: Robert Myers [mailto:robert at s-cars.org] Sent: Monday, October 11, 2004 5:43 PM To: Tom Mullane; s-car-list at audifans.com Subject: Re: [s-cars] An S car moment Probably a waste of money, though, unless your tuning is set to take advantage of the higher octane rating. I certainly agree about the bark of the Stromung, though. I absolutely love blasting away from the toll booth. It sounds absolutely fantastic. ;-) At 05:33 PM 10/11/2004 -0400, Tom Mullane wrote: Had an "S car moment" this weekend and figured I would share: I was out running some errands with the wife, and happened to be in Paul K's neck of the woods, home of Johnny's Mobile and 105 octane race gas. I thought "what the hell" I'll give the old girl a treat (the car, that is). I pulled in and up to the center pump that dispenses the liquid gold. I had barely gotten the nozzle into the filler when the attendant popped out. "So have you ever used the 105 before?" "Nope" "You know what it costs, right?" "Yep, I know..." <smile> "Um, ok. 'Cause some people put it in by accident." Back inside he went wondering what kind of a nutcase would put $5/gallon racing fuel into an old sedan. God, I love owning a sleeper. I thought about explaining the whole A6/S6/it's really a fast car thing to him, but opted instead to bark the Stromung at him on the way out. What a great car!
