[s-cars] head-liner cleaningTom Green trgreen at comcast.netMon Apr 9 10:25:40 EDT 2007
The issue I know of is using a strong vacuum cleaner on the headliner can pull the fabric loose from the foam backing. Some dry-cleaning solutions (solvents) will do the same thing, or can streak the fabric, since along with the smell there is discoloration from the smoke. As long as it is not alcantara fabric, the headliner material is not expensive. The sunroof equipped cars have a board the headliner is attached to. The issue is removing the old foam (torching seems to work ), but, hopefully we are getting way ahead of your problem and just cleaning will work for you. I would want to make sure the detailers routinely clean headliners and door upholstery.
