you're thinking all the right things about what to upgrade - both
suspension and brake improvements will make a noticeable, excellent
difference in the manners of that car.
Go with H&R springs, Bilstein sport shocks, and the Bira brake kit
(Bira.org is the site.) I think the Bira site tells which wheels will
fit over which brakes (if not, ask Chris Miller.)
you should be able to do all of this for about two grand. Paul K
