[200q20v] boiling noises from 20vt head(whoops)

Okay, if I can actually REMEMBER to put in the second part:

I noticed the coolant tank was every-so-slightly below what it should
be, so topped it off with a little water, no more than half a
cup(anal anyone?) I take the car for a spin after cleaning oil out
of the spark plug holes/connectors, air filter, and oil change. Get
back, turn off the car, walk around in front, and notice a rather
loud gurgling/boiling noise

I've had this problem on and off and I want to get rid of whatever is
causing it right away; I suspect there's a large air pocket, but I
have no idea how to eliminate it; I've already tried disconnecting
the overflow line and filling the system from there; it did nothing
for the problem.

Any suggestions?

Brett

PS:set screw for the filter housing refuses to go in. I've tried
everything I can think of; there's nothing in the way, but the damn
screw just won't go in. This leaves one corner of the airbox sorta
willy-nilly. Ideas?
