If your system overheated there is a good chance that the
upper radiator nipple has cracked from thermal shock. I have
had two water pumps fail, and each time the upper nipple
cracked, rendering the radiator DOI. The second time, I put
in an all metal radiator. Worth a look since you will be in
there to deal with the fan.

All metal radiators are available for around $160 -
considerably less than the OEM. If you need to replace the
radiator - the secret is to remove the right front fender
well shroud. Greatly simplifies the work.

Good luck......
