My heater's blower motor is starting to squeal a bit after it's been on for
a couple of hours and I'd just as soon replace it BEFORE it stops
completely.

My question is - how bad a job is the replacement? Should I just take it to
the shop or do it myself?

thanks

Jim: I did mine last year; not that difficult, just a bit time consuming, and a little frustrating at times. Writeup on my site or Scott Mockry's site (below), don't need a steak knife. Either get a new motor or rebuild yours, depending on it's condition.
