[200q20v] an alternative H4 lamp wattage

Since many of us have upgraded to Euro-style headlights, it's inevitable
that the talk often turns to possibilities for even more light from
higher-than-standard lamp wattages. An H4 lamp "alternative" that I've
never noticed being mentioned is one that I inadvertantly got when I bought
lamps from Todd Candey (Vortrag Motorsport) as part of my star-crossed
harness transaction. The lamps I received included the expected 100W H3.
However wattage of the H4 lamp was 55/100. I previously had the notion
that the only move upward would be to 80/100W. Not so.
I'm been using the 55/100 Ha lamps for the past year and believe they are a
sensible alternative to the H4s that provide higher wattages for both
filaments. On high beams I get a nice blast of useful (400W) illumination,
whereas on dims the 2x55 watt level quite adequate and, IMO, less likely to
be offensive to oncoming traffic.
Oh, the lamps were of German origin. Perhaps "Narda" brand? I'll try to
find the name if wants needs that info.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year to everyone.
