[200q20v] door locks

Mark,
When you earlier posted a description of your accident you seemed to imply
that an SUV's involvement had some special significance. I resisted
comment.  Now it appears that the other driver's age is somehow noteworthy.
I feel your pain, but nevertheless I'm sure you must realize that--even in
the absence of "a senior citizen in a SUV"--opening a car door into traffic
is a calculated risk.   In this instance, you seem to have _mis_calculated,
unless you've been able to convince your (and his) insurance company to the
contrary. I've made worse mistakes than that (and have
upside-down-in-a-ditch photos to prove it). Darn that curve. Curses on that
wet sand. :-)

P.S. Good luck with the door lock. I'm a little puzzled by your description
of the alarm/lock malfunction, but agree with Chris's recommendation.
Sounds like the pneumatics and rod linkages are OK to the new door, so is
likely an electrical disconnect or maybe a timing problem caused by
improper "gear" alignment.  Not recommended for an outside job. Also, I
wonder if they used new lock parts, as age  sometimes _is_ a factor. :-)
