My new heater blower motor is finally installed--just in time to ring in
(and heat) the New Year.

Many thanks to all those who responded to my questions with advice and
encouragement. I did end up disconnecting the heater-core hoses, and I
think that was a great help in lifting the blower box. Oh, a factoid before
I go: the heater hoses can be plugged very nicely with ordinary wine corks,
while the hose fittings of course need a somewhat smaller plug.
