Do you have the Bose system? Crutchfield sells an adapter to allow any
normal head-unit to interface with the existing Bose amps and speakers. It
werks well, BTDT. Like $75US.

I've had my rear speakers out. You probably need to pull the speaker for
access to the amp connection; I think this is detailed on my site. Once on
the bench, there's a simple spade connection and you're done.
Another option to consider is that aftermarket 6x9" speakers will likely fit
in the audi adaptor; might give better sound quality.

Crutchfield tells me it is the result of a conflict between
the mosfet chip in the head unit and the rear amp. I am now
facing a direct hardwire job between the head unit and the
rear speakers. Any words of wisdom re bypassing the rear
amp????????
