Check the vacuum pump which is under the left front fender, follow the vacuum hoses to it. Sometimes it gets water in it. Mine does the same thing, but then seems to fix itself.

Subject: [200q20v] Cruise control won't hold speed
Hello,
The cruise control on my 91 200q is not very reliable. It seems hard to get it to take a speed. Once it sets a speed, it seems to gradually
lose the speed and then go completely off of cruise control. If you accelerate while it is losing speed, it seems to lock on again and
hold the speed for a while. The previous owner said that the cruise control worked pretty good in warm and hot weather, but it is now
pretty cold in Montana and it doesn't want to work much at all. Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Greg
