First step is to measure voltage at the battery under the rear seat, before starting car, then while idling.  Also measure available voltage at the alternator or jump start post.  If you see a difference of more than about 0.1 volt, you may be developing a high resistance connection at the "welded" splice in the cable from the alternator/starter to the battery.  The splice may be heating up and increasing the resistance???
