Well, i have had this problem for awhile, but it wasn't bad enough that i
was worrying much. But now my oil burning has gotten worse suddenly, I am
burning about 1.5 to 2 quarts evey 1000 miles. When thr car is sitting at
rest, especially when the engine is running at the first bold bar on the
coolant temp gauge, it smokes a fair amount. The oil pressure is fine, it
runs @ 5 bar when cold, and falls back to a bit above 2 when idling and
warm. Aside from the somke, and smell, it runs fine. What do you think this
could be? (My dad says the smell smells like a valve seal going bad) To make
things worse, i had a chip on order from keith anderson, and when i had
ordered it (2+ months ago) my oil burning wasnt nearly as bad, but there
wasnt somke, so i wasnt worried yet. Now the chip is in, but i dont want to
run higher boost on an engine that is burning oil. Thoughts anyone?

BTW, the car has 147,000 miles on it, and i have treated it nicely since
purchasing it (137,000 mi.) I always let the car cool down before turning
off, and i always let it warm up before heavy boost. I rarely do sustained
high boost runs. But i believe the person who owned the car prior to me
treated it poorly. I am not sure though, because i never met the person, i
bouhgt the car from a reputed dealership.
