[200q20v] H+R/Bilstein Upgrade Revisited - milder options?

I also went Bilstein HD's and stock springs
with my V8 5spd. It actually gives a bit more
suspension travel since they're gas pressurized.
The only thing that I don't like about them is
the additional busy-ness over slightly less than
smooth roads. I pulled a set of HD's out of
my 83 GTI for this reason. The effect is just
a bit less noticeable with the V8, but still, it
could be smoother during normal driving over
slight irregularities.

Amazingly, my mother thinks it rides absolutely
wonderfully. I was visiting her all last week and
one day we went for 250 mile drive. She still
thought it was great, and better than her
95 Accord EX which I have inexplicably grown
to appreciate. Yikes.

Insert flash of lightning and clap of thunder delivered
by the Audi gods.
