If they are dumping them as obsoleted from the depot in Germany, I wouldn't 
be expecting any sort of warranty at all...

The driveshafts may bolt up better in an 89 than an UrS4 or CQ, but aren't 
the pre-91 type 44 turbo quattros using a 3.89:1 final drive ratio? The 91 
200q uses 4.11:1, so you would need a rear diff with 4.11 FD as well. I 
believe some UrQs and 4kq's used 4.11 in addition to the 91 200q, but this 
seems to be moving beyond a simple drop-in affair.

1991 200 quattro, 110k, no tranny noises yet (knock knock)
1988 GTI 16v, 213k, after a couple years added 6-sp kit to original 
close-ratio 5-sp, which blew up after a year, pretty happy with a 
wide-ratio 5-sp for a couple years now
