After eight years my speedo went nuts, so I downloaded
Chris's instructions, fired up the trusty iron and tore into
it. There are actually three sets of these header type pins
in the whole assembly. Since I was in there anyway, I
desoldered all of them and replaced them with wires and
miniature Molex connectors. I also touched up a bunch of
solder joints that appeared to be cold. Also a good time to
replace in-dash light bulbs. It was a five hour job, but an
absolute fix. Be sure to put 2 or 3 layers of masking tape
along the wood edge of the dash, or you will scar it up.
