It's not a difficult job, just takes a bit more than an hour. Biggest issue is access.
The lower end of the hose comes right off (actually, cut it and clean it out so the gunk doesn't go back into the engine); for the end behind the engine (under the ISV), if you get your hands in there, it's not terrible. Scott Mockry's site has some pics of the layout of the hoses, etc.
I suppose if you were to pull the ISV and clean it at the same time, you'd have better access. You should also change the vac line to the turbo bypass valve at the same time, as it likely is worn at the connection to the intake manifold (it crosses a bracket and wears), and is stiff or burned under the heat shield along the head.
DIY, IMO... plan on 2 hours. Best access by just laying across the top of the engine.
