[200q20v] Trans OR c. bearing noise ?

Any experience with this one.

- what sounds like a loud road noise at low speeds (perhaps I just can
not hear it at higher speeds), but it goes away once I put the clutch
in. So is it an early trans failure ? or the center bearing ? It has
become progressively louder.

Yeah, I know it is hard to diagnose over the web, but thought that it
was worth a shot.
