Speaking of safety, I intend to do some basic autocrossing this year and
will need to buy a helmet pronto. Most of the shops in the area are
motorcycle focused, and don't know much about the rules for autocrossing.

I gather that the latest Snell rating is SA 2000...but one fellow asked if I
needed a fire retardent helmet. I sure hope not :)

Anybody know if this is a requirement in SCCA Solo Trials (basic entry level
autocrossing)?
