[200q20v] after run coolant pump

Here's another question for the group...I just noticed that I do not hear
the after run coolant pump on my S6...I assume that this car has one, and
that I should be able to hear it after the engine is shut down. I do hear a
very quiet percolation in the engine...but it sounds a bit like water
boiling rather than flowing...

Is this what I should hear...or should I hear a telltale pump whirring?

If the latter, what things should I look for?
