[200q20v] oil pressure switches

I've written earlier about oil pressure warning light problems.  The gauge says a tad under 5 while the light goes on saying I have low oil pressure.  Mr. Wong said it is likely the oil pressure sensor---but I just want to clear up one more thing.  What do the oil pressure switches do????   Also is part number 035 919 561 the correct number for the 200 TQ oil pressure gauge sensor???  Thanks---
