I must agree that the $200 is well worth it ESPECIALLY
if you plan on using it on an OBDII equipped car
because the connector for the OBDII diagnostic port on
the newer cars is only available from 2 companies that
like to deal in high volumes. (I managed to get a free
sample when I asked for a price quote, go figure.)

Being the frugal tinkerer that I am, I thought why not
save a few bucks and see what the demo software can
do.

While I haven't spent much time with it, I'm
reasonably sure a 200 owner could get by with using
the free demo software since the registered version
unlocks things that don't work for our cars.... I
could be wrong on this point but if all you want to do
is clear that airbag light and maybe check for errors
in the ECU, the demo will be just fine.

Registering the software is $99 and I will be going
this route to access some of the adaption stuff for my
wife's A4 (turning off the oil service light and
changing the central locking behavior). So I actually
will only be saving about $88 (over the package price
of $200)and my connectors not as nice as Uwe's.
