Unfortunately, I have a "fuel smell" as well.

Mine however is ONLY after shutting the car off and ONLY in the trunk and
interior.

I have scared my neighbors on more than one occasion by sniffing around the
passenger side tire well, fuel flap and all around the fuel tank. NOTHING.
Only in the trunk and interior. More potent in the trunk though.

I removed and visually inspected the pump and tightened all connections. I
did replace a short vent hose coming off the pump going into a metal line at
the top of the tank.

Still does it. Darn. A couple of hours stuffed in the trunk with my feet
flapping around outside for nothing.

Really don't know where to go next. Take the tank off?
