You really want to get the right setup here if only to re-torque properly.
My torque wrench is 3/8, and so are my hex drives, so I got a very long 1/4
extension from home depot, and 3/8-to-1/4 adapter. I put the hex drive and
adaptor on the screw head, and passed the extension through the IM access
holes. then I used a 3/8-to-1/4 adaptor on the ratchet to connect to the
extension. The only "special" part you wind up needing is the long
extension which was only $5 or so, and the adapters which were about the
same.
I've read lots of cautions about steel "galling" when threaded into al, so
because this is a limited access area it probably makes sense to use OEM
coated fasteners. I used stainless with lots of anti-seize, but these can't
be torqued to spec.
