Hey all,
Anybody else ever get the feeling that Audi just really doesn't care about providing top notch customer/parts service for owners of vehicles like ours? I guess two easy ways of finding consent would be to look at the igniting Bose case, or warping UFO's, or for me the 3-week turnaroud time for an injector seat/cup. I'd really hope that after they screwed it up twice, to the tune of two weeks, they would be willing to fork over the little bit of extra cash to get the correct part delivered stat. Not this time though. Anybody have experience with parts and service from BMW, Acura, Mercedes, Lexus or the like? I wonder if it's the same saga over there?
I guess I'm just a little frustrated, and maybe I should have railed the dealer to get them to go a little farther, but the way I see it is that I shouldn't have to; me getting pissed does nobody any good, hence the need, in my opinion, for them to be a little more receptive, especially when the mistake is on their behalf. I just get the idea that as long as they are making money, they're not going to take the time to make sure the customer support network is in place and working well.
Ever tried to get any work done at the dealership? I've heard the average sevice turnaround between calling and getting an appointment is 3'ish weeks, among that sample is trying to get them to do presswork, or my Dad trying to get his A8 in for servie. I guess that's what happens when you grow so quickly. Too bad I own an older of one of their vehicles that's also quite rare to boot.
Also, has anybody else heard the rumor that Audi actually pays for overnight shipping on any part needed for servicing a V8? Doesn't seem like the 200TQ should be too far off the pinacle status of the V8.
I guess the long and the short of it is I'm ticked that I can't have my car up and running too make a drive I've planning since last August because one part that I wound up needing to replace was mislabeled at the warehouse, and then took over three weeks to get in (guestimate, still haven't recieced the part yet, and won't see it in time for my journey). Three weeks for an injector cup! So about in the time it took them to get that piece in, I was able to figure out how to source out and install new shocks, headlights, an upgraded wiring harness with relays, various gaskets, a distributor, cranckcase breather snorkel, not to mention tear down and have numerous rubber pieces pressed into the front of the vehicle, and have the vehicle ready to go...except for an injector seat.
Thanks Audi, thanks a lot!
OK, enough with the lament, I will be glad when I get the chance to drive the vehicle again.
Peace out,
Derek Pulvino
