And that's the trouble...everybody, myself included :-), heard it
from someone who heard it from....
I tried to get some numbers out of Audi, and customer relations
returned the answer: "we do not know how many cars are sold in a
particular model year." "No, you don't understand. This was the
only year this car was imported into the US. I just want to find out
how many sedans and avants were imported, total." "Sir, we don't
track how many of each car with what kind of engine" etc etc.
The best resource is probably:
-the government(gotta have those numbers for crash statistics)
-insurance agencies(theft rates, etc.)
-JD power(sales numbers maybe?)
etc
Audi is only interested in providing such information on models they
"like" to "remember"(ie, UrQ's.)
