For anyone interested in a Oil Drain Petcock as a replacement for their
standard plug/bolt, check this Manufacturer's site. I have had one of their
products in my BMW for well over 10 yrs with no incidents. It is a very
nicely made ball valve with a spring-loaded locking lever. Works great and
it truly makes doing an oil change nearly a 'clean' operation. Simply open
the valve and the oil runs out. My only complaint is that due to the
reduced orfice diameter the flow is of course a bit slower; only other
concern is that it does hang down more than the standard drain plug, but not
by much and as I said, I've never had a problem. For emergencies, I keep
the original plug in the glove box.... Good luck.
