Gosh, that's a tough one. Biggest factor in either case is how well was the
car taken care of BEFORE you bought it. Those of us to be 'lucky' enough to
have experienced both ends of that equation much prefer the 'taken care of
before I bought it' side. I really enjoyed, flogged and maintained my v8 and
she stayed with me with minimal expense for the 117k miles that I had her.
My 91 200q20v on the other hand has been much more needy :-(. Main bitches I
hear on the s4/6 side are tranny and clutch. On the v8 it's usually
'neglected before I got it' and on the 200q20v --well, everything seems to
be a real pain to get to...of course doing the steering rack twice this past
weekend was no fun (one of the rare times that the first replacement rack was
defective).

My v8 was heavy, predictable autobahn stormer. My 200 is more nimble, but
not as solid in feel...must be that 50+ lbs (guess) extra metal
reinforcement.

Yes, I still miss my v8q, and Ill probably have to get my turbo rebuilt soon,
but the 200 really flies. Now for my hybrid idea: S4 motor in the v8q. Now
that would be fun :-)
