David,
Just one thing I wanted to point out, although it
sounds like someone made a mess of your car-
the driver's side of the reflector panel should have
a dual-filament bulb for the rear fog light.
Other than that, I guess someone made a mess of your
taillights, possibly scavenging some brake light
sockets along with taillamp sockets?
Wiring your headlamps in parallel would cause a
voltage drop- not good. How did you control the
headlights if the original harness is not used and
is still live?
A proper wiring harness can be seen by looking at
Blau's harness. It's not the best (I'd like to
see heavier gauge wiring, use of factory connectors
to the eurolights, wiring all encased in heat-shrink
tubing with boots for all of the ends, and a sealed
relay box) but it's pretty good.
