A friend who operates a local Audi/VW shop mentioned to me
that he's never seen an Audi distributor that didn't have a
_metal_ drive gear. But then he's never done any work on the
20V engines. I assume a non-metal gear is used to avoid
potential camshaft-gear damage? But if so, why only in the
3B engine?
