[200q20v] Roof rack disasembly

Pete,

It's been a few years, but I seem to recall the round tubes rotating freely in the rack base when I replaced the internal foam seals due to a water leak.  Try some penetrating oil overnight?

  Hi guys.  Does any one have any experience in removing the round tubes from 
  the cast base of the roof racks from an Avant.  I am either going to recrome 
  or powder coat (black) mine.  I have the racks off the car, however the round 
  rails do not yield to modest pulling.  As always any advice will be greatly 
  appreciated.
