[200q20v] Distributor timing

Bernie,

Well, as it stands I actually decided to fork out the cash and buy a new distributor a couple of weeks ago.  So while I'm not excited about the prospect of getting rid of what should be an otherwise good dist, at least now I'll be able to trust that my car will start on a regular basis.  The other half of this is that is now another dist. floating around that's ripe for experimentation.

As for a 10v drive gear, someone I'd talked to during this search reported he'd tried the same remedy on a NA 20v engine he broke the drive gear on, to no avail.

Derek,

Reporting that my search for 20V distributor drive gear has been totally
unsuccessful.  Bosch just does not sell parts.  Another thought though.  Has
anyone ever compared the 10V gear to the 20V gear?  They may well be the
same gear, even if the shaft length of the distributor is different.  Check
it out, anyone.
