Hey, didn't say that's what I did; just that it's a link with how/what/why.

People complain about the cost of running/maintaining the type 44; I think of the cars as costing little, but having a big known repair/maintenance cost included.  I suppose you could buy one for $6000, replace all the known things at purchase (rack, steering hoses, suspension bushings etc., repack cvs and reboot them, new radiator/hoses, new vac hoses, blower motor, open up the dash and resolder stuff) for about $4000 more (with a shop doing everything).  So, for $10k you'd have a car needing nothing, with little likely needed for another 100k plus miles.  What's comparable to that?
