[200q20v] Stupid exhaust question

Why don't we have a gasket between the turbo and the wastegate? I imagine it
might have something to do with the internal movement of the wastegate, but
still, why not a gasket to insure a good seal? I'm embarrassed to even ask
this, but also very curious.
