The parts between the two gear boxes '91 200 and urS4/S6/V8 are very
different.
Input shafts one tooth different & different diameter and different lengths.
Even if you use the S4/6 gear boxes there are no transmission mounts that
even come close. I have had to use the urV8 front subframe to fit the 200
and then cut, reposition & reweld the later V8 trans mounts to even come
close. NO it is not installed yet, but it is the 6-speed.

Subject: [200q20v] RE: 6 Speed Change

The ratios in the S4 tranny are much different....final drive is still 4.11
but the 2nd and 3rd gear ratios definitely allow a lot more MPH in those
gears...my '91 200 tops out right at 60 at 7k in 2nd gear, whereas the S4
will go up to about 70....the 200 goes up to about 90 to 93 in 3rd gear at
7k whereas the S4 tops at about 102 for 3rd gear. However, then 4th and 5th
gear are very close to 3rd and in 5th gear my S4 seems to run about 150 rpm
higher at 75 mph than the 200; even though they are supposed to have the
same 5th gear (.73). I haven't figured this one out yet. Also the S4
reverse is in a gate to the left of 1st all by itself, probably in keeping
with the European model 6 speeds. Ned Ritchie has a parts list on his site
for the S4 changeout but I believe that the S4 and 91's are much different
gearboxes.
