I don't think the two problems are related.
The fogging is most likely caused by the return spring
on the recirculation door in the climate control system
The spring breaks, comes loose, or the attachment point
on one end of it lets go. It sounds like a huge pain but it's
really not too hard to get to. You will have to pretty much
lay in the passenger foot well with you head where your
feet usually go. And look up. You should be able to see
the door and the spring, probably hanging from just one end.
I'm sure the dealer could resolve this for you as well w/o
too much expense.
The leaky windshield is almost definitely a separate issue.
