I once asked the local alignment shop guy if he was aware that there was a
recall on the hunter units for a DB error.  "Doesn't matter.  We don't use
the numbers.  We go off what you complain about, and how the car acts; we
use the machine as a measuring device, not a reference.  We tinker with
it, take it for a drive, and if it still needs fixing, we tweak it some
more."

Sounded good to me.  That philosophy must have been good enough, because
all the local porsche shops used to use them, until they got their own
alignment equipment.

But, alas, that's in Waltham MA and I'm in NY now.  Dan mentioned to me
that there's a popular shop in lower CT that a bunch of folks use/like; I
have set of springs/shocks that need installation and a few other
drivetrain/suspension things checked out.
