And the answer is...

the plastic fuel injector inserts in the intake manifold of the 3B....They 
require a 3/8 inch hex wrench for removal and reinsertion...
Just had the stock injectors serviced by Marren Motorsports (Injector.com) 
and will reinstall them this weekend.

I'll report the before and after results to the lists next week.
