Yup. And you're upset? Our cars were rated from the factory at 18/22.
If you're getting 17/24, and your car is making +60 more HP, who can
complain? :-) 17/24 is almost exactly what I get(actually, I get a little
more, probably 17.7...I usually squeek just under the EPA city guide.)

Yup. The Motronic does a nice job of adjusting for things like O2
sensors; if you look at the variables the ECU uses, you can tell why.
There's something like 4 different adaptive values for the O2 sensor alone
:-)

Multifunction temp sensor...I can almost guarantee that's the problem. If
memory serves, it's about $50-ish. $67 keeps popping into my brain for
some reason.
Bently details how to hook up a resistor to the circuit at the connector
end to make sure the power supply, gauge and wiring are all OK.
