Talked to www.shox.com (RD Enterprises), the vendor the PO got the shocks from.
The warrantee is for "as long as *you* own the car". i.e., nontransferable.
Grrrrr.

$102 for a new one. In stock. Next question. Would you replace just the bad
one, or go ahead and replace both rears? I'm leaning towards just the bad one,
as the folks at www.shox.com didn't seem to think that there is an awful lot of
mileage on these shocks and their opinion is that the Bilstiens are usually
bulletproof.

Opinions welcomed.
