[200q20v] Bilstein Sport shocks < clunk>

Is the clunk coming from both sides, or just one side?
I went thru the same problem on my 86tq, after replacing the springs with Intrax,2 in. drop and Koni reds, I kept getting a loud knock while going over certain small bumps, as if bottoming out. One side only. Turned out to be the the front bushings in the rear control arm.
Looking at the bushing's they looked fine, but once replaced with new, not a sound left.
Might be worth a look, if only bottoming from one side.
