Do you mean it doesn't always power-on when you turn the knob

and sometimes takes two or three tries?  When I had that problem

in ~'96 in my sedan it was the on-off switch going bad, a known

problem at the US service center (in Chicago?), that progressively

got worse.  An exchange via Carlsen at that time was under $100.00

and included the normal 12 month warranty.  The service center was

$~75.00 to repair my own unit but the warranty was much shorter and

the part was backordered at that time (hinting at how common the

failure mode was).



The refurbished unit has worked fine since ~96.
