I hear this comment from many people.  Wonder if the issue is that many
people's Bose setup is broken?  Mine's pretty good, and I do know good audio.
 Can I do better?  Yes.  Will it be expensive, and not worth the effort and
cost?  IMO, yes.
I also judge it while driving, not just parked.  IMO, if you had a car stereo
that sounded ideal while parked, it would not sound ideal while driving on
the highway.
To improve on the stock bose, you'd need:  headunit, probably amps, front and
rear speakers.  Lots of $.
