[200q20v] Low Budget sound... Was RE new 20v owner questions, now RE Bose Stereo

Music and how we perceive it is very personal. Lots
of folks think the oem Bose in our cars are just fine
and could care less about vastly improving their audio
systems... I have never had the pleasure of hearing
the original bose system in our cars since the PO
ripped it all out and put in an amp and four speakers.

Having never been in another 200 20V I have no
comparison and haven't gotten a chance to audition
Larry Leung's Bose system in his 89 200Q.

All I knew was that I was unhappy with the sound in my
car as it was installed by the previous owner.

Bottom line: doesn't matter what others think, do what
you like.

I kept the 4 channel Kenwood amp, alpine 6X9 speakers
and infinity 4" speakers (moved to the dash) purchased
by the previous owner and added an MTX 8" subwoofer
(on sale for about $80 w/ enclosure) and a pair of
pioneer 5.25" coax ($50, slightly modified Bose door
pods), a new mp3 in-dash receiver (ugly and $300) plus
a handful of capacitors and coils (about $30).... I'm
happy that I've vastly improved the sound of my system
for less than $500. It's not my home theater and it's
not my wife's A4 either, but it sounds pretty good.
