[200q20v] Smoking steering column!

OK, this one caught me off guard this morning.  Luckily I had my newly
acquired Urq to get me where I needed to go.

Not more than 45 seconds after I started the 200q20v, and was driving up my
street, I smell something burning and see smoke coming from my steering
column :-(

My headlights are not turned on and neither are my windshield wipers nor turn
signal.  I immediately turned around, parked the car in the driveway, turned
off the engine, removed the key, and switched cars.  I came back this evening
and the 200 is still in one piece.  Any suggestions before I delve into this
either tomorrow or over the weekend?
