An informal pole will not stop excessive tire wear!  Just do a correct, DIY
alignment.  A sure solution, and the only way to find and understand your
problems, IMO.

Not sure, don't remember.  But who cares?  Further adjustment is prevented.

Not limited within practical values.  How far beyond 5 degrees negative do
you want to go?
