I've seen some threads on failure of the 0-ring on the pistons, taking out a 
turbo...
not sure that there is any benefit.  My chipped 20vt is on it's second bypass 
valve in the last 100k miles... using stock bosch.  If you go with a piston 
style, keep the preload very low.
