[200q20v] Recall

I called my local dealer, Carlson Porsche Audi in Palo Alto, and they ran my 
Vin number through the computer and no recal info came up.  So I called AOA 
and the very nice person - they are referred to as "advocates" -explained 
that recalls are specific to Vin numbers, not models or years.  When the 
NHTSA determines that a recall is needed they notify the various state DMV's 
who match the Vins subject to the recall and then send the registered owners 
a notice of recall - at least that's what I was told.  Also, the NHTSA info 
on this "recall" leaves it kind of up in the air as to whether there really 
is a recall.  Short answer - don't run down to the local dealer for new 
speakers just yet.
